Nice information about the house and transformation:
In 2019/2020, the houses of number 59-73, which served as a hotel since 1991, were transformed into beautiful apartments. Van Aerssenstraat 67 and 69 were built in 1923 as part of one of the 2 building parts of the shopping center project: Van Aerssenstraat 59 - 73. House number 67 was built as a shop and 69 as a residence. According to a neighbour across the street who came to live in the street in the 1960s, 67 had been a grocery store for quite some time. Since 1991 the building served as part of Esquire Hotel and later Hotel Maurits. The ground floor was the breakfast restaurant with breakfast kitchen and 6 hotel rooms were located on the upper floors. Over the years, the stairwell of 67 has been removed, it has been restored to its original condition and as a result the 2 houses are now almost identical to Van Aerssenstraat 71 and 73, as it was built 100 years ago.
